Chapter 211: A Miracle Kiss

Chapter 211: A Miracle Kiss
I sat beside Amelia’s bed in silence, the sterile scent of healing magic lingering in the air.

She hadn’t moved for days. Her face was pale, her body still. But she was alive. Barely.

I reached for her hand.

It was rough, calloused. Not the hand of a princess pampered in a palace—but of a warrior who fought on the front lines. A hand that once gripped a sword to protect me.

“Amelia…”

I squeezed her hand gently, the weight of everything sinking in.

“Thank you. From the bottom of my heart…”

“If it wasn’t for you—if you hadn’t shielded me from Xir’s attack—I’d be dead.”

I bowed my head and let my forehead rest against her knuckles.

“…You gave everything for me… and I don’t even know how to repay that.”

Tears welled in my eyes.

“I want to see you smile again. I want to hear your terrible jokes, your awkward flirting… I want you back, Amelia.”

I brushed a hand across her cheek. She didn’t react.

I sat there quietly, conflicted.

My heart belongs to Serena now… yet Amelia is someone I can’t simply forget. She’s important. She’s irreplaceable.

I wanted to apologize. To tell her everything I never had the chance to say.

I reached up to caress her face—

And then…

My body moved on its own.

“Wait—what!?”

I froze.

I wasn’t in control anymore.

“Envi!?” I shouted in my head. “Stop it! What the hell are you doing!?”

Envi didn’t answer. He didn’t smirk. He didn’t tease. He simply stared down at Amelia with… sorrow in his eyes.

For the first time ever… he looked genuinely human.

Was that pain I saw on his face?

“You…” I said warily. “What are you planning?”

Envi knelt beside the bed. His hand hovered over hers. He trembled slightly.

“I should’ve known…” he whispered, mostly to himself. “You’re scared.”

I struggled to take back control—but I couldn’t. I was locked out. The system had overridden me entirely.

“Envi—don’t do anything reckless! That’s MY body!”

Still, he moved.

Still, he leaned in.

“Wait—Envi! No! STOP!”

Runa gasped. “W-Wait, is he really going to—?!”

Envi’s voice dropped to a whisper as he cradled Amelia’s face.

“…Wake up, Amelia. You troublesome woman…”

Then he did it.

He kissed her.

Softly. Tenderly. A long, lingering kiss.

I screamed in my head. “YOU BASTARD! That’s MY body! You can’t just—!”

Runa squealed like a fan watching a drama. “KYAAAH! This is incredible! I’m taking notes! This is going in my journal!”

“RUNA! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO STOP HIM!”

But she was already too caught up in the moment.

I couldn’t believe this.

After what felt like an eternity, Envi slowly pulled away.

He looked stunned.

And then—

A miracle.

“…Naoki…?”

Her voice.

So soft, so faint… but real.

Her eyes fluttered open.

She was awake.

“Amelia…?” Envi whispered—his voice trembling.

“Y-You’re really here…?” she asked, still groggy.

Envi nodded, stunned speechless. Then slowly, as if afraid she might disappear again, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close.

“I was… terrified,” he murmured. “You were fading… and I couldn’t do anything.”

Amelia smiled weakly and returned the embrace.

“I’m still here. I’m not going anywhere… Thank you… for coming back to me.”

“No,” Envi said softly, brushing her hair back. “It’s me who should thank you. You saved me.”

“You’re worth it,” she whispered. “I’d give my life for you again…”

“You’re so damn troublesome…” Envi chuckled, tears in his eyes. “But… I’d give mine for you, too.”

I was stunned.

That wasn’t just a system mimicking emotion. That was real. That was… love?

Had Envi—my cocky, annoying, parasitic system—fallen in love?

But wait? Could it be that he doesn’t just like Amelia? Lyra and Freya too!

I have a theory about this, but Envi gained human-like feelings because he shared my body and mind. Therefore, he learned from my feelings in all moments, even when the romantic moments with Lyra and Freya could be developed into love.

That could happen.. because I’m still confused about my feelings not only towards Amelia, but also Lyra and Freya.

Ahh Goddess of Benevolence, give me a clue for this. I prayed in my mind.

This was a line no system should cross.

And yet…

Before I could sort through my thoughts, Envi leaned in again for another kiss—

SLAM!!

“AMELIA!!! MY BELOVED DAUGHTER!!! YOU’RE AWAKE!!!”

King Aslan burst into the room and dropkicked Envi across the floor like a sack of potatoes.

Envi groaned on the ground, dazed.

Arsene calmly walked in behind the king and smiled apologetically.

“Ara-ara~ I’m sorry, Naoki. Father was just… um, enthusiastic. Please forgive him.”

“I-I get it…” Envi muttered. “He’s… very affectionate…”

King Aslan hugged Amelia tightly, tears streaming down his face. “You scared your old man, you know that?! Don’t you ever do that again!”

Arsene joined the embrace, holding both her father and sister. The warmth in that moment was overwhelming.

I watched through my own eyes, unable to move—but for once… I didn’t mind.

Envi… smiled.

A quiet, sincere smile.

I admit this..he’s more than just a system now.

….

After some time spent reuniting and sharing tears, King Aslan began updating Amelia on the state of the kingdom and the war against the demons.

Amelia looked shocked—truly shocked—when she found out I had defeated Xir, the Rank 1 Demon Warlord, with ease. But her eyes widened even more when she learned I had pushed the Overlords back from the frontlines.

Of course, Envi puffed his chest out and took all the credit—acting like he was the one who did everything. What a joke! I did most of the work! He was just… support.

Still… I let him bask in the praise. He looked so happy.

“Hehe~ Master, you’re kinder to that flirty system than I expected,” Runa teased with a chuckle in my mind. I could only sigh.

But the joy didn’t last.

Amelia’s smile slowly faded. Her expression darkened.

She had just learned the truth about her sister—Princess Aria von Braveheart—who had fallen into a coma after the battle… betrayed by her own fiancé, Lucius von Starlight, who stabbed her from behind.

Amelia’s eyes trembled as she turned toward the bed beside her, where Aria now lay, still and pale.

King Aslan and Arsene both looked deeply sorrowful, their gazes locked on the motionless figure of the princess.

But I could tell… Princess Aria wouldn’t be waking up anytime soon.

According to the Saintess’ diagnosis, her mana circuits and her mana core had been completely destroyed. She would never be able to use Divine Magic again.

We all went silent.

Even Envi—who always had some smug quip—looked shaken.

It made sense, though. Aria had pushed herself far past her limits during the battle… and Lucius… that bastard had aimed to permanently cripple her magic.

He wasn’t just trying to kill her. He was trying to erase her existence as a mage.

“That’s cruel… unforgivable,” Envi growled through gritted teeth. “I’ll never forgive Lucius!”

He stood up, his voice echoing with unshakable conviction.

“King Aslan, Arsene, Amelia… I, Naoki von Blackmore, swear to grow stronger. I will avenge Princess Aria. I’ll kill Lucius with my own hands!”

I… agreed with him. Deep down, I knew. This wouldn’t end until we crushed every Overlord—and the Demon King himself.

Hearing Envi’s words, King Aslan stood up. He walked over and placed a firm hand on Envi’s shoulder.

“Thank you, Naoki… I entrust that duty to you. I can no longer fight as I once did… I’ve lost my left arm, and my body is failing.”

“Leave it to me,” Envi nodded resolutely.

“Then… Naoki,” the King continued, suddenly more serious. “I have… one more request.”

Something about his tone made me nervous.

“When you kissed Amelia… she woke from her coma.”

He paused.

“So please… would you kiss my other daughter, Princess Aria, too? I believe she’ll wake up as well!”

My soul practically exploded.

“WHAT!? HAS THIS MAN LOST HIS MIND!?” I screamed inside my head. “Envi! Don’t you dare—”

But I was too late.

“FOR REAL, YOUR MAJESTY!? YOU’RE HANDSOME AND BRILLIANT!” Envi yelled. “WOOHOOO!! I’M COMING, PRINCESS ARIA!!!”

And just like that, Envi leapt toward Aria’s bed, lips puckered, aiming for another miracle kiss.

But then—

“DIVINE MAGIC: HOLY STRIKE!!!”

Amelia’s fist glowed with golden light, her body barely recovered from her coma, and yet—

BAM!!!

She slammed Envi’s face straight into the ground, knocking him unconscious in one hit.

And just like that, control of my body returned to me.

“Oww… my head…” I groaned, pain pulsing through my skull.

That punch hurt! My HP dropped by 300!!

Damn it, Envi… I swear, I’m going to kill you one day. You keep dragging me into these insane messes!

“Pfft… Master, I think that flirty system is officially knocked out. He’s going to be offline for a while,” Runa laughed in my head.

I managed to sit up, groaning. In the background, I could hear King Aslan and Arsene laughing hysterically.

But then…

I felt a cold, murderous gaze.

I turned.

It was Amelia.

Her yandere side had fully awakened.

“Naoki…” she said in a low voice, stepping closer, Divine Magic pulsing in her clenched fist.

“I wouldn’t mind if it was Serena… or Lyra… or even Freya. But she’s my older sister. I can’t let this slide…”

I raised my hands in surrender, completely helpless.

“I-It wasn’t me! I didn’t mean to—!”

“So you’re saying…” she leaned in, eyes glinting, “…you really want to kiss someone again that badly?”

“W-What? No! I mean—I didn’t—!”

Before I could finish, she pulled me into a tight embrace.

“Amelia—wait! Don’t—!”

Too late.

She kissed me.

Hard.

“MMHHHH! MHHHH!! MMM!!”

I tried to resist, but she overpowered me. Her lips crushed mine until my entire body went limp.

I collapsed. Nosebleed. Knockout.

When I came to, I was lying on a couch in the Braveheart Palace.

My head still throbbed.

I found myself wearing new clothes. Where are my old clothes? My armor? Who changed this?

I panicked and looked around

Arsene sat beside me, sipping tea with a devilish smirk.

“Ara-ara calm down. Your armor and clothes are damaged, they will be repaired first. The king gave you temporary clothes. What do you think, is it good?” Arsene said with a chuckle.

This dress is like a royal noble’s dress. I like this luxurious black and gold color. But… but this is not the time to relax!

“”How long have I been unconscious?”

“You were out cold for three hours,” she said.

I was shocked, I didn’t expect to be unconscious for that long.

“Amelia felt guilty and fell asleep again. Guess using magic right after waking up from a coma will do that…” She giggled. “But seriously… you’re such a pervert.”

My cheeks burned. “I—I didn’t ask for that kiss!!” I groaned and cursed Envi again. The system was still offline.

But then—suddenly—I remembered something.

I HAVE A DATE WITH SERENA!!

I shot up and looked at the time. 5 PM?!

Oh no. She’s waiting for me!! I can’t be late!

I turned to Arsene in a rush.

“Tell Amelia I’m sorry! I’ll visit her again later—gotta run! Bye!!”

I sprinted out of the palace with all my strength.

And then—a notification appeared.
