Chapter 603 603: Important woman behind it all.
"If they weren't idiots, they would have come to help the Beckers because we can't fight them right now. But that's the beauty of playing with their minds. I show myself to be powerful, and I reveal all the cards I have. I instill fear in them by stripping them of their abilities so that those who depend on them feel compelled to flee. And since they are idiots, they did it. We have already won the mental battle; we just need to destroy what is rooted in this world."
Shock blossomed on Martin's face as he realized that everything Matthew had been doing since before the attack began was to instill fear. It was all part of his plan, and even they hadn't been able to see through it.
Not even Alice or Isla, who were with him the whole time, could see it.
'...'
His mind went blank; he didn't know what to think.
Matthew noticed this, so he resumed his quiet walk.
"Sir." Martin stopped him once again. "I know it's a lot to ask, but could you grant me the pleasure of looking beyond Limbo?"
Matthew looked at him, a slight incredulity on his face. "Do all the Allens wish to see what is on the other side? Gray seems to have the same request."
"We Allens carry your blood, and we thirst for power. Seeing the powerful makes our blood boil, and we long to reach them. But I am old now, I don't have many years left. My power will not grow any more, so I will never be able to cross that place."
"And do you think I can show it to you?"
"If a god can't do it, who could?"
Matthew was shocked by his answer, but after several minutes of this, he began to laugh.
"Hahahaha..."
"Not bad. Good answer."
"But you are not yet worthy. Show me that you are. Destroy the Becker Clan. Then I will grant you the ability to cross that place. You will be able to see it with your own eyes, and you will not need to rely on me to do so. Come on, the opportunity to do so is right in front of you. We are in the great city of a Vampire Clan."
"Don't they say you once destroyed some cities? This is one you never thought you could destroy, but now you have my support, so if you believe I am the 'god' you talk about, then you will believe you can do it with my support."
Martin Allen stared at him for a few minutes before nodding firmly.
"Such an easy test should not be given to the 'Vampire Devil' that everyone fears. However, since that's all it is, I'll show you why they gave me that name."
Immediately, Martin Allen vanished from the area between the red and black auras. They drew attention, but it was the least of it. Soon, everything would draw attention in this city.
When his power was unleashed, several others followed suit in other parts of the city.
He recognized several of them.
"Albert, Gray, the Librarian, too. They all seem so lively; it would be a shame to be left out." He smiled, and with a few steps, he arrived in front of a building where many people were working.
He entered the basement of the place and there he met someone.
"If someone were to tell all the vampires that a human would be the cornerstone in the fall of a Vampire Clan, it would surely make the dead ancestors writhe in their graves," said Matthew.
Mia Holmer turned to look at him and smiled.
"I think that if someone were to tell vampires that their progenitor employed humans to destroy their guys, they might feel even worse."
"Hahaha, well, that's true, too. Because vampires think they're superior, they've ignored the power that surrounds them, which is why almost no one knows about spirits. It's a disgrace for the traitors since even they seem to ignore them."
Mia shook her head, sighing. Your considerations always surpass me, and even the Lady seems to be feeling overwhelmed lately. Sometimes, she seems to feel that your strategies will overcome her, so she has been trying hard. But I hope you don't forget about her. If I was able to get here, it is only thanks to her help and a little contact she made recently."
Matthew nodded. "I can't forget my wife; don't worry about that. I must thank her properly when I see her again. But you have earned a lot of credit this time; you took a risk, and it seems to have paid off."
Mia nodded. "I've gained a lot of experience, but this is just the beginning, isn't it? The most dangerous part is yet to come."
Matthew nodded and stared at her for a full minute.
"I'll see you soon, and I'll give you a gift that you'll appreciate. If you hold out until the end of the mission, I'll give you anything you want."
Mia stared at him for a moment before nodding. She began searching through her storage ring and took out a few items.
On seeing her, Matthew asked: "Are you going to move now?"
Mia then handed him several things and nodded.
"A small part of the mission has been accomplished. I will move on to the next point." Then she left without looking back.
Matthew glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. "As hardworking as ever, although it seems that the quality of her work has increased. As expected of the current leader of the spirits in the human world. She has a lot of potential and guts."
Looking at what she had handed him, he smiled coldly. It was a device and some additional documents. The device, constructed from inscriptions, featured various buttons and had a square design.
'It's improved,' he thought.
However, he didn't give it too much importance, as he had something else to attend to. He ignored the documents for now and walked through a long underground corridor that led him to the south wing of the Becker mansion. The main door was there.
Standing before it, he pressed the device in his hand. Each button present was pressed and then it was smashed to pieces.
Suddenly, the city began to tremble gently from below. Many people were in shock; it had been too long since the earth in this place had felt a tremor, but it was intensifying with every passing second.
Those passing around Matthew did not notice the anomaly, nor did they think it would be anything different. They just kept walking, knowing that soon it would all be over.
But then something happened.
The tremor was just the starting point for normal people who hadn't felt the powerful auras that rose through the city like a stormy current.
And the tremor grew so strong that it began to frighten them, until suddenly...
*BOOOOM*
What do you think?
