Chapter 217: Teaching Medicine
The first patient approached nervously, his complexion an alarming shade of green that immediately caught everyone’s attention.

“This disciple consumed too many Qi Gathering Pills at once,” Xiang Yu announced to his attentive students, his voice taking on the measured tone of an experienced instructor. He pointed at the patient’s sickly pallor and the visible swelling beneath his skin where meridians had become inflamed. “His body simply can’t process the medicinal residue fast enough. Now his blood carries dangerous pill toxins and his cultivation pathways are completely blocked.”

The medicine students leaned forward, studying the patient’s condition with intense focus. The poor disciple’s skin had taken on an unnatural metallic sheen, and his breathing came in short, labored gasps that made everyone wince in sympathy.

“Pill poison accumulation shows these classic warning signs,” Xiang Yu continued, gesturing toward the patient’s various symptoms. “Discolored skin, blocked meridians, and most dangerously, his liver qi is stagnating completely.” He turned to address one of the medicine students sitting nearby, beckoning him forward. “Feel how his pulse skips irregularly?”

The nervous student approached and carefully placed his fingers on the patient’s wrist. His eyes widened as he felt the erratic, stuttering rhythm beneath his fingertips. He nodded quickly in understanding.

“The toxins are affecting his heart meridian now,” Xiang Yu explained grimly. “If left untreated, this could become life-threatening within days.”

He began preparing his treatment while explaining each step to his captivated audience. “First, I’ll administer Thousand-Day Detox Tea to begin purging the accumulated poisons from his system. Then he needs thorough meridian cleansing through the Reverse Flow Purification method.” His expression grew more serious as he continued. “This is a crude and extremely painful procedure, but it’s absolutely necessary given his condition.”

The patient gulped nervously upon hearing about the upcoming pain.

“For the next month, he must consume only Fasting Pills and pure spring water,” Xiang Yu continued his explanation while beginning the treatment process. “No cultivation whatsoever until his meridians clear completely. Recovery takes tremendous patience, but most disciples in his situation make a full recovery within two months if they follow instructions precisely.”

The medicine students listened to his every word, some frantically scribbling notes while others simply watched with rapt attention.

Patient after patient followed, each presenting unique challenges that Xiang Yu used as valuable teaching opportunities. He carefully explained every condition, broke down complex medical concepts into understandable terms, and demonstrated various treatment methods while his students observed and learned.

Xiang Yu found himself thinking that medicine probably had the lowest barrier to entry of all the professions he had mastered, except perhaps something basic like farming. As long as someone possessed foundational knowledge and maybe a little hands-on experience, they might actually be able to practice it competently. He smiled internally as he wondered if he should start preparing to issue proper medical licenses to his graduates.

After treating the last patient and watching them depart with grateful bows, Xiang Yu called for Liu Qing to gather all the students together.

“Do you know what’s happening tomorrow?” he asked the assembled group.

Several hands shot up immediately. He gestured toward one eager student from the school of medicine.

“Elder Huang Fengqi of the Phoenix Ascension Pavilion and Elder Guo Shantian of the Mountain Heart Pavilion will be getting married,” the disciple announced proudly.

Xiang Yu smiled with approval. “That’s exactly right,” he confirmed. “And we will be using this entire pavilion as the wedding venue.”

“Since we’ve dirtied the place during our orientation activities, I want all of you to go around and clean everything thoroughly,” Xiang Yu instructed, his tone becoming more businesslike. “I want this pavilion to look exactly like it did when we first opened the doors, so the wedding preparation team can come in and start decorating properly.”

He paused to let this sink in before adding, “Remember, this was just our initial orientation session. The real school opening and formal classes will begin the day after the wedding ceremony.”

Satisfied that everyone understood their responsibilities, he gestured for Liu Qing to approach the front of the group. She stepped forward confidently, ready to take charge of the cleanup operation.

“Chairman Liu will organize the cleaning efforts and coordinate everything,” Xiang Yu announced as he began moving toward the exit. “I’m leaving this in your capable hands.”

With that, he slipped away from the bustling activity, leaving the eager students to their work.

Since his junior sister, martial aunt, and master were all busy with the wedding preparations, Xiang Yu didn’t go to prepare food. Well, he did but rather than use the communal kitchen, he decided to cook and eat by himself in the spirit vein.

In the past, he might have simply skipped the meal altogether to save time. But after witnessing the significant benefits that qi cultivation provided, he refused to miss even a single opportunity for experience points. He quickly prepared a simple but nutritious meal for himself and ate just as quickly.

Following his usual routine, he stripped off his clothes and lowered himself into the spirit spring, ready to begin his daily ritual.
